August 2026 meeting

14 made it to the August meeting (Pic001).

John Davies had been busy scratch building some OOn3 stock (Pic002) made from basswood on Triang TT chassis. The Isle of Man Railway ‘fish opens’ were made before John’s eye operation. The pair of Tralee & Dingle cattle vans being part of John’s post op. recovery.

Colin Capel brought along his purchase from the 009 Society members day at Steventon (Pic003). This was a rather nicely built Chivers ‘Engerth’ loco from 009 Sales (Pic004).

Chris Blackwell brought along a selection of Dundas ‘Victorian’ 4 wheel coaches to build (pic005). I’m not sure he got very much done with everyone interrupting him to ask what he was doing!

Matthew Tozer was also working on some model making (pic006), painting some 7 mm scale figures for his layout.

Paul Walton brought along his ‘scenic test track’ (pic007). Chris took the opportunity to run some of his stock through the Welsh scenery.

Neil Davies brought along his ‘back pack test track’ which saw a lot of use (pic008).

In no particular order we saw:

Dick Johnson’s Kato ‘England’ that has just (I think at the meeting) had it’s crank pins replaced (pic009)

Neil’s 3d printed NWNGR coaches (ex Robex) and Kato ‘Exmoor Pony’ (Pic010)

Joseph Jacks’ Fourdees kit built locos – ‘Beta’ in green and ‘Onchan’ in blue – both on Sirdar chassis (pic011).

A bit of a ‘Sirdar Fest’ (pci012) with (from left) Neil’s chassis, Joseph’s locos, Neil’s 009 Society, Works Grey and GWR versions along with Ben Powell’s Lined Umber and 009 Society versions.

Ben’s Umber loco had fun pulling a train of Ben’s stock – a selection of Bachmann and Peco stock along with a scratch built bogie flat (pic014). The latter was carrying one of Joseph’s 3d printed Ruston LAT locos that Neil had purchased (but I managed not to photograph).

Also escaping the camera was Neil’s Tyneside Models ‘reduced Dennis’ body print for the Bachmann Percy chassis and his Rod Alcock Ruston, but these might be seen in the last few ‘snaps’ (pic015 to 018) taken at the meeting.
