15 made it to the March meeting (pic001).
Neil Davies brought along his test track and ran a number of items. His ‘Percy bash’ had been finished in time for the 009 Society AGM at NG South (pic002). This uesd the loco chassis with a pair of Inoxion Models W&L coach bodies. Neil had also been busy with a 3D printed Baldwin gas mechanical (pic003) from Kevin Wright. Not running due to a failed drive belt was Neil’s Ruston LAT by Rod Allcock (pic004). Continuing the internal combustion theme was a Ruston Proctor that Neil had built this from a Westcliff works. It was seen hauling a rake of Nigel Brooks 3D printed wagons (pic005).
John Davies brought along his latest project (pic006). This was a SACM 0-6-2T built for the Chemin de fer d’Interet Local Hermes à Beaumont. There were four built for the line in 1878/9. One (No. 3) was destroyed by the RAF during D-Day with the loss of her crew.
Ian Willetts brought along his latest loco purchased from the 009 Sales stand at NG South (pic007). This was a Langley ‘Sir Drefaldwyn‘ running on a Bachmann ‘white box’ 8-coupled chassis. It had a good run on Norton Heath, kindly brought along by Trevor Street.
Dick Johnson brought along his layout ‘Tren Bach’ whichsaw a great deal of traffic. I managed to ‘snap’ a train of rtr Peco stock behind a pre-built Fourdees Beddgelert (pic008). Also caught by my lens was Bob Taylor’s Douglas (pic009), a Westcliff Works 3d print on a Bachmann Percy chassis.
Doug Mobley brought along his layout “Cwm Hir” en route to the Stafford Railway Circle’s spring show (pic010). Doug had recently rebuilt the layout, extending it on new baseboards and re-wiring the electrics (pic011).
Paul Walton had also been busy with layouts. The test track seen at the last meeting now having ‘grown’ some topography (pic012). It’s also gained the working title of “Rheilffordd Prawf”.
